Kratom products we recommend

11 kratom products currently pass our testing criteria. We don’t sell any of them — we buy them, read the lab work, and link to the retailer that does.

Affiliate disclosure: we earn a commission when you buy through a link here, at no extra cost to you. Every commercial link is marked sponsored, and commission rates play no part in what appears or in what order.

Kava options

Kava is a different plant with different effects and a separate legal status. We list these because people arriving here for relaxation are often better served by them — but the Kava Shot contains no kratom at all, and the blend contains both. Our state-by-state guide covers kratom only.

Side-by-side comparison

Choosing a format

The single biggest practical difference between these products is format, and it matters more than most buyers expect.

Liquid shots are pre-measured and act fastest, typically within 15 to 20 minutes, because there is nothing to break down first. That speed is the main reason people choose them. The trade-off is cost per serving: you are paying for the convenience of someone else having done the measuring.

Stick packs contain powder in a single-serving sachet. They are slower to take effect than a shot because the powder still has to be consumed and digested, but they travel better, do not leak, and work out cheaper per serving than shots at the same strength.

Bulk liquid is the cost play. It only makes sense for consistent daily use — if you are still working out whether kratom suits you at all, buying a gallon of it is the wrong first move.

On “extra strength”

Two of these products are sold as extra strength versions of a standard product. That labelling refers to a higher concentration of mitragynine per serving, not a different plant or a different extraction method.

This matters for a specific reason: higher-concentration products are where adulteration risk concentrates. Where a vendor has artificially elevated 7-hydroxymitragynine rather than simply using more raw material, the product behaves quite differently from what the label implies. That is the specific practice that kratom consumer protection laws in regulated states were written to stop — and it is why we check concentration claims against lab results rather than taking the word “extra” at face value. See how we assess products for the full criteria.

If you have not used kratom before, the extra strength versions are the wrong starting point regardless of price.

Kava and kratom are regulated separately

Do not assume the legal position for kratom in your state applies to kava, or the reverse. They are controlled under different statutes, and a state that has banned one may permit the other. Our state-by-state guide covers kratom specifically — check your state’s position on kava separately before ordering either.

What we checked before listing any of these

Every product above passed the same four filters, and products that failed are not on this page regardless of what commission they pay.

  1. A certificate of analysis from an independent laboratory — one with no commercial relationship to the vendor, covering alkaloid content, heavy metals and microbial contamination.
  2. Alkaloid content matching the label — where a concentration is stated, we check it against the lab results.
  3. Screening for salmonella and heavy metals — the contamination risks that account for most documented harm associated with kratom in the US.
  4. A vendor that behaves like a real company — verifiable details, a written returns policy, and no claims that kratom treats or cures anything.

We do not publish dosage guidance and we cannot tell you what is appropriate for you. That depends on your physiology, your tolerance and any medication you take, none of which we can assess. Speak to a qualified healthcare professional.
