Free Kratom eBook: The Kratom Companion
Kratom is unusually badly served by the internet. Most of what gets written about it is either vendor copy treating it as a miracle or scare pieces treating it as a narcotic. Neither helps if you are simply trying to work out whether a product is legitimate, whether it is legal where you live, and whether it is worth the price.
This book is the thing that was missing. It is free, it asks nothing of you, and it does not sell you anything — we do not sell kratom. It is the same research we publish across this site, organised into one place you can read on a plane.
What is inside
Where kratom comes from, how it was actually used for centuries, and what is really in the leaf. The chemistry in plain English: mitragynine, 7-OH, and why a partial agonist behaves differently from an opioid. Plus an honest account of what strain names do and do not mean.
What people actually reach for it for: pain, energy and focus, anxiety and mood, rest and sleep. What the evidence supports, what it does not, and where the honest limits are — with links to the full guide on every symptom.
Side effects stated plainly. Tolerance, dependence and what withdrawal actually looks like. The drug interactions that matter, why the CYP450 enzyme story is not theoretical, and who should never use kratom at all.
The part the industry would rather you skipped: the 2017–18 salmonella outbreak that infected 199 people across 41 states, the FDA’s heavy metals findings, adulterated products, and the live federal action on concentrated 7-OH.
Formats compared, dosing without guesswork, and a step-by-step walkthrough of how to read a certificate of analysis — the two-minute skill that protects you more than any strain choice. Plus how to buy without getting burned, and how to check the law properly.
The Symptom Finder: start from what you are dealing with and go straight to the fullest treatment of it. Plus a glossary and the ten things worth remembering.
Why we are giving it away
Because the alternative is worse. Kratom is not federally regulated as a supplement, which means quality control falls almost entirely on the vendor and the buyer. People get hurt in this market mostly through contamination and adulteration — problems that a reader who knows how to ask for a certificate of analysis can largely avoid. A better-informed buyer is a safer buyer, and that is worth more to us than an email address.
There is no signup, no gate and no upsell. Download it, read it, send it to someone who needs it. You may share it freely in its complete, unmodified form.
Before you read it
This book is for adults aged 21 and over. It is not medical advice, and nothing in it is a substitute for a conversation with a qualified healthcare professional who knows your history. These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration; kratom is not approved by the FDA for any medical use, and nothing described in the book is intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. Read the full disclaimer before use.
Kratom law changes faster than any PDF can track. The book explains the categories; the current position for your state lives on our legal status page, which is maintained and dated.
